i have a latidude d600 that i bought on e-bay i have no xp disk and now the harddrive needs to be replaced. what do i do about the xp i have no disk to reinstall xp

If the laptop still works you can clone the drive. There is lots of software available to do that but you will need an external case for the new hard drive and clone via USB.

If you bought the computer with the xp software and it is registered with Microsoft. just call them and they will give you a free disk or free link for the replacement. If it is a bootleg software (you did not pay for it), ask one of your friends for their copy and just install it.

if you still have your authenticated cd key, you can download xp and use that key and format your new system. changing hdd really needs xp to run your cpu properly.
