Start to run and lift weights that will help you gain strength and enduracne. I swim for a club and high school in Texas ( i moved from south carolina), and i find that cross training is a huge part of success that makes Texas such a fast swimming state. Work your abs the most because all of swimming starts from the core. A couple days before your meet take it down a notch and rest up. Make sure you drink a lot of water and eat as well as you can. GOOD LUCK!

eat well ,get lots of rest, take up jogging or other endurance sport, plus you will find most towns have public pool lane swims times..or see if a hotel with pool n you r area is willing to let you do some extra workouts there. you should be able to find a pool to do lengths if nothing else.

dont have any dairy products, they give you a lot of mucous so its harder to breathe.
drink a lot of water since you perspire a lot during your meets.
eat bananas for the potassium so you wont cramp up.
try to get enough sleep :)
i used to swim in high school so these were our rules lol
