As Prof Z said, "Horsepower *is* a unit."

It has these relations to other units:
1 hp = 3.3*10^4 ft-lbs/min
1 hp = 178.2 cal/sec
1 hp = 0.7457 kw
1 hp = 745.7 w
1 hp = 745.7 joules/sec

Hmm... it converts to watts,

watts are newton-meter-seconds

newtons are kilogram-meters/second^2

so.. i guess it would be kilogram meter^2/seconds
