You have to say the Beatles according to some people they invented music, Not saying they werent a very influential band but they recieve too much credit. They were a pretty pop song band when they started ( I wanna hold your hand...). Next up would be Aerosmith every album is worse than the previous. I also agree with Nirvana and Bon Jovi, I dont think you can say both Nirvana and Pearl Jam because both of them brought grunge into the mainstream but Nirvana is given more credit for that then Pearl Jam is

Nirvana was absolutely influential but lacked true talent and if you saw them perform live you should understand. Bon Jovi (need I even say anything?), KISS were known for theatrics and they had to be to take attention away from poor skills and sorry live play even with simple songs. Too many bands create sounds that become popular even if they suck because a studio can make a bad sound seem good. No better exapmle than Kurt Cobain's whelping like screeches in the studio in his outtakes. OMG he was bad.

Bon Jovi... and The Beatles... and U2.

And this isn't rock it's more punk but I think Fallout Boy is extremely overrated.

All the bands you listed are bands with tons and tons of number one hits! take a look at some of these mediocre bands that pump out mediocre songs.
Totally personal preferance. In my opinion the bands that have one hit (one-hit-wonders) are the overratted ones.

Led Zeppelin, The Beatles (although they deserve more mention than Zeppelin), KISS, Bon Jovi, all glam rock or metal after the mid seventies, anything in a genre with the words hair, nu, and core (with the exception of some of the better hardcore punk bands), ELO, Yes, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, and Rush.

I may think of more later.

Edit: And I did:
-U2
-All Sting related projects (man he sucks at everything)
-Linkin Park
-Korn
-Blink 182 and such
