I am going on a road trip with my friend next summer through the U.S. I live in California and i want to know of any cool stops we are planing to go cross country and see some cool stuff and meet some cool new people any help would be good thanks!!!!!!!!

Well then these are terrific places and so beautiful.....
Grand Canyon in Ariz, Carlsbad Caverns New Mexico
Crater Lake, the Royal Gorge in Colorado,
Petrified Forest of Calif, Hearst Castle, Calif
Merrimac Caverns in the Ozarks of Missoui,
Jesse James Hideout also in Merrimac Caverns, That should give you a good start ........and with the other answers you should have a great trip.

The Big Sur in California, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Las Vegas, Miami, New York City, Chicago...all great.

Would be a good idea to take a northerly route on the way out and a southerly one on the way back so you could see many different locations. Include Mt. Rushmore, the Black HIlls, and the Badlands, Niagra Falls, Chicago ( fantastic city) Here are a couple of websites that may help you plan.

follow "old route 66" (as best you can, some of it is missing) from the santa monica pier to chicago.
i guarantee you'll walk away from the experience with a lots of stories!
