Are our politicians giving America away for business interests to the detriment of the citizens? Bottom line of everything in this country is money. We the people, the legal and natural citizens of this country are taxed and regulated to death. The others in our society here illegally mostly are a giant drain on our infrastructure, especially schools and medical facilities. Sure they pay taxes when they buy things, what do you think happens to social security taxes paid when it's found out the number is false? Governor Spitzer of New York is trying to give illegal aliens drivers licenses. Our jobs are being outsourced, foreign countries buying bits and pieces of America, massive debt with China, talk of a North American Union and a superhighway. The question. Is America being sold to the cheapest bidder for labor while millions and millions of illegals flood into our country? What is our nation going to look like in another twenty years?

Giving thought to cheap labor makes the analysis unclear. The country was primarily built on cheap labor. Wave after wave of immigrant came and was sequentially abuse. The transcontinental railroad. Coal mining alone in Pennsylvania cost 30,000 immigrants their lives and at the time the people running things were more distressed at the loss of a mule than a human life because there were so many lined up to work. The big difference today is that we now give them education and medical benefits (I do believe going to the ER anytime you are worried counts as medical benefits and if something serious is going on you do get treatment).
I think the infrastructure has been built and we need to maintain it. I also believe that we can let the illegals go home and the country will do just fine.

Good question and interesting observations.
Obviously, a great number of illegal aliens are not interested in becoming citizens or Americans - hell, they don't even want to learn the language - let alone our customs - and learning English is a prerequisite for citizenship.
I really don't fully understand the logic or purpose behind the most recent efforts to accommodate those who are in this country illegally. It ranges from every effort to eliminate the term "illegal" and replace it with "undocumented" to posting all of the signs in the big box stores in English and Spanish. And now, giving them "legal" identification in the form of a driver's license?
I personally live in an area with a large French population and I have never seen a public sign in French - they didn't need them since they took it upon themselves to learn English and become American citizens.
America's future in 20 years will depend entirely on our policies and actions taken during that time. If we continue on our present collision course, I suspect Mexi-America will be the result.
My opinion - we need to enact and enforce new policies which will enable the honest, hard working illegal aliens in this country with no criminal record to register and begin the process of becoming legal citizens - with a time table for registration, after which, if they fail to register - deportation and much, much better enforcement on our borders.

Yes. Very true.

If we dont turn this around, in 20 years the financial divide will make this country look like a stark 2-class state.

That would totally wrong. We need to satrt taking care of our owen and get some REAL morals instead of Government only interested in making money off of big business and cheap labor.

-Get the hell out of Iraq
-Health insurance for all citizens
-Stop shipping jobs overseas
-Invest in well paid AMERICAN employees

Start by voting Democrat.

You have the liberals to thank for the mess. Our nation will implode if we don't repent to God and get the leadership back on the right track.
