You guys are seriously pathetic. You act as if coming back down 3 to 1 is no big deal, because it's been done against the Yankees three years ago. Three years ago, only three of the current Red Sox on the team now, were on it then. Three years ago, the Red Sox never gave up two innings in two different games, with 7+ runs. Three years ago, the Red Sox didn't have to completely dominate two pitchers who will finish in the Top 4 for Cy Young. The offense is miserable; you don't honestly think Dustin Pedroia and JD Drew are just gonna pick it up with the snap of a finger, the pitching will automatically be lights out and win, do you? Coming back down 3 to 1 has been done 10 times in over 100 years, and you fans act as if it'll be a breeze.

Red Sox fans continue to amaze me. You don't have a better team than 2004 lol. The only reason you say is that is because the Yankees finished in 2nd place.

Guess what...the series isn't over until that clinching out is made...call people pathetic if you want but don't think the Sox are going to just roll over tomorrow...I think if Beckett wins tomorrow then Schilling will send them to game 7 where anything can happen...my prediction is Beckett sends the Sox back to Boston for game 6 and the Sox end up taking the series in seven games...if the Indians don't clinch at home they won't clinch at all...that prediction has nothing to do with 2004 and everything to do with this years team and the next two starting pitchers for the Sox.

No one is really clinging to 2004. I think every realistic Boston fan knows the team has a mountain in front of it. Cleveland is a solid team, and getting good outings from Westbrook and Byrd really helped the Indians. The lack of offense from outside the meat of the order is disturbing, and may doom the Red Sox.
On the other hand, Beckett has been great this season. Win that one and you head back to Boston. Schilling certainly is capable of pitching well; he did it in Anaheim. If you get to Game Seven, anything can happen.
Oh, let's see -- 2004/2007 Red Sox include Ortiz, Ramirez, Youkilis, Varitek, Mirabelli, Schilling, Timlin and Wakefield.

Clinging to great recent history, proves that they actually can overcome anything! 0-3 and trailiing late in game 4 to 8 straight wins and a Title!
Beckett and Schilling are more than capable of dominating any given start! If Pedroia could just smashing the ball right at people he would be fine. He has had at least 3 hard hit ball right at a fielder!
If drew gets seated for Ellsbury I wouldn't shed a tear!
You really need to stop a look at the games to realize that the Sox aren't playing that bad. Game 2 if Youklis hits that ball in the 9th 5 more feet to the left they win 7-6! Game 3 was a 4-2 game, hardly a blowout! As for game 4, Bases loaded in the 2nd and got nothing... hurt bad! The 5th inning was disaster but things were fine before then. The Sox has plenty of chances, some hard hit balls right at people!
Do I expect them to win the series no, would it shock me if they did no! They have been right there in 2 or the 3 games they lost and it wouldn't take much to change their luck!

We use 2004 as an example and proof that a team CAN come back from being down. If it was Cleveland that was down 3-0 against the yankees in 2004 or whenever and came back to win, people would be using that phrase. Just because it happens to be our team we cant use that as a rally cry? Just because we have faith in our team doesn't mean you have to bash us about everything we say. I have respect for the tribe and think they will win, however tribe fans aren't showing much respect back, and kudos to those who are.

But i sure do and it doesnt matter if they win or lose i still root for them because i love my red sox. Red Sox Nation has been red sox nation since the parked opened, Oh and we dont act as if its all a breeze, because its not and i know its not.. How would the fans act as if its all a breeze we dont. The red sox themselves do not the fans how would the fans act as if its all a breeze. You should be one to talk im sure there are other fans that do the same. Even redsox.com is clinging onto 2004, lol
It said that comebacks are the Red Sox nature since they were down 3-0 in '04 and if they did it then, they can do it now. Or some bullsh*t like that.
What losers.

Because they are from Boston. Their 100 years ain't up yet. Then they'll win the big one again. It's Clevelands turn to go to the Series, like Detroit did last year. Law of averages. Tell Manny to get a haircut, he looks like hell. I don't think Clevelands pitchers will throw the ball around the field like the Tigers did though.

Dang. You know baseball? Aren't fans supposed to pull for their teams? Did I miss something growing up? I remember people saying things like, "It's baseball. Anything can happen." What do you do? Turn off the TV when your team fall behind by a run? What are supposed to do? Watch football? C'mon.

i'm a Sox fan and yeah, our team can do it. yet they won't, because of the fact, as you element out, purely something like 3 of our gamers have been with the team in '04. heavily, the full of baseball and activities is relatively particularly ridiculous in this regard. besides the incontrovertible fact that, those are MY Sox and that i'm pulling for them!
