Eggs came along a long time before there were chickens. Lizards were laying them for millions of years before there were ever any birds. Slowly these lizards evolved feathers. Like it or not the fossil record does exist for this idea. Identical skeletons have been found, some with feathers, some without.
At some point an egg hatched and what came out looked sufficiently different from what had been coming out before that someone named it chicken.
So this answer is not as difficult to understand as philosophers have lead us to believe.

Of course, when the chicken has come into existence, together with its creation is its ability to reproduce (because they NEED to REPRODUCE), so that's why there's the egg.
But then, if we have this kind of thinking...the chicken comes first (for how would an egg hatch without the chicken?) The fact that THAT is how eggs are hatched until today is proof enough that this has always been the practice among chickens.
So there you have my answer.

Trick question. The answer depends on whether you are an Evolutionist or a Creationist. God made the first Chicken. And the first chicken egg came out of a feathered dinosaur.

I was in the Old Waverley Hotel, Princess Street, Edinburgh,on Friday 18th October
and it was definately the "Scrambled Egg" that came first in the morning.
