every sandwich i've ever made or had served, had no thumbs.
maybe your question should read, what sandwich could you eat with thumbs?

You could hold it together lots of ways - one hand on top, one on bottom. Or you could hold it between your middle fingers and your pointer fingers. Or you could balance it on the edge of the table and push it into your mouth with your fingers.
