I have a minor traffic ticket from summer of this year that is $99. I appeared for both court times and dates this summer and pleaded guilty since I was guilty. I was to pay the $99 a week later which I thought I'd have the money by then. That was in late August but I never got the money. I have been out of work for along time and I've barely had enough to live off of at times. I got a letter in the mail but I don't live in that area anymore and I'm completely out of state looking for work. I need to know what I could do to pay this off and what if anyone on here knows what the judge had typed to me in the letter. Thanks

Write a letter to the court -- or have an attorney do it for you -- that explains your situation, and says you are intending to pay the money as soon as you have the funds to do so.

The judge probably didn't say anything directly -- it was probably a court notice of your default, and that additional penalties would be due because you didn't pay on time.

You can contact the court and ask them to send another copy.

Dude, you plead guilty, were fined, and didn't pay. My guess is you've been hit with extra fines. Worst case, you've got a bench warrant out against you. If it's in the system and you get stopped and checked for anything, you're liable to get arrested. Call the clerk of the court when your case was held. Explain your problem. Ask what your status is and what you need to do to fix it. Then do it. Otherwise, at a most inconvenient time in your future, this is going to pop up and bite you on the ***.

Putting my crystal ball in front of me to read the letter that the judge typed to you...

Sorry, nothing.

I can't tell what the letter says and you don't tell us. But I would bet it tells you exactly what will happen if you don't pay.

Usually, when you don't pay they will add a penalty of more money owed. Sometimes, they will suspend your license. Sometimes, they will issue a contempt warrant.

What does the letter say????
