How about going to aerobics classes where no one is looking at you particularly as they are all concentrating too hard on themselves?

I understand your concern. confidence is a pretty tenuous thing sometimes. But if you're a good dancer (or even if you're not), keep in mind that your dancing for the enjoyment of the music (at least I would hope that's why you're dancing). These more "advanced" dancers you worry about aren't looking at you if they're dancing. Just practice to get even more proficient if that will make you feel better. But hey, it's dancing, you are supposed to be having fun, so have fun. Dancing is like landing a plane--- any one you can walk away from is a success.

oh dude i understand exactly how you feel. i'm also a dancer and when i dance with someone who's better than me i get a little intimidated. it's normal. what i usually do, when dancing with someone better, is just think how much i really love doing what i'm doing. try it. it may work.

if you know your a really good dancer compare yourself to the people that arnt as good as you instead of the people who are better than you.
than you will see that you are accully really good.
than your confidence will rise.
