I will be a pediatrician when I graduate from medical school this may. Here is what it takes.
College degree (BA or BS) -4 years
Medical degree (MD) - 4 years
Residency (licensing) - 3 years

you can do combined BS / MD through some school in 6 years and then 3 years residency after that

In America it's 4 years (at least) for a bachelor's degree, 4 years of med. school, and many more years of interning and such.
