With all of the super heroes in the DC pantheon - no group captures the imagination more than the Justice League, and as a story arc, no heroes have been more curious (to me) than the Green Lanterns. As DC seems mired in Superman and Batman - perhaps Green Lantern needs a chance in the batter's box. Thoughts?

I'd rather see a Green Arrow, Green Lantern, & Black canary movie or T.V. show. They had some great comic arcs that would do well I think. Now that DC is going to do those straight to video animated DVDs maybe they will do one with them.

Because of the cost of the special effects a GL movie is still sometime off. Besides that I'm sorry to say that he isn't that popular of a character. He is great, but the general public isn't that interested in him. Take comfort in the fact that there will be a GL in the JLA movie they are working on right now. If you haven't heard it will be an animation in the vain of Beowulf, where they film real actors and then animate over top of them. Cast so far is Green Lantern, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and Martian Man-hunter. They are casting right now with hopes of having it out early 2009. They at least want the filming to be done before the Hollywood strike next year.

Which GL would you prefer to see? JLA or JLS version? Hal Jordan or any of the subsequent ones? Given the lousy ending to the JL:Unlimited series (see a great thread about it via the link below; you may need to "join" Google Groups to view it; click on the first question of that link (JBond007)), DC probably wants to stick with the tried-and-true giants of the genre, despite the fact that they constantly muck with story lines that have us oldsters cringing! GL, nifty though he may be, is pretty much relegated to animation and as a sideline; a live-action movie would rely too much on CGI (like Spiderman, et al.), which would be a big turn off, at least to me! So, I wouldn't hold my breath on it!

Green Lantern would make a great movie, they could go with the book Green Lantern: Sleepers Book two By: Christopher J. Priest, and Michael AHN Copyright 2005 and then go with book three and then one. That would be great. in book two it starts with how the Lanter and GL's Power comes to earth and then when it is found in ww2 and then in book when it is with Hal's daughter and her boy freind.
