I get low self esteem and my confiencde start dropping when I see myself in pictures because they don't look like me. When I'm lookin in mirrors, I see myself attractive. Is this normal, and what's more reliable on how you look...The mirror or pictures?

I look brutal in pictures too :\ It's ok, I feel your pain. There isn't really a way to solve it, except try to find a position you look good in. It's normal, don't worry about it. Mirrors are a tad better because they're the complete reflection, while in pictures different factors come up: lighting, movement, stuff like that.

you see yourself attractive on mirrors and that is what counts most. then you are attractive.
i am the contrary: less attractive in person but look better on pictures, provided i wear some light / nice make up.
I think you cannot control that. you either have it or not. but people see you as you see yourself in the mirror,so then you are cute.
however, may i mention that sometimes in mirrors we look at what we want to see, depending on how we feel about yourselves. I recently lost over 4 stones on a diet. before the diet i hated my pictures because i looked fat ( the fat showed); on mirrors instead i would look at my face which is said to be quiet pretty and at my best side. Now that i lost some weight i look at myself in the mirror and i see myself fat like never before. i just begun to see something i would not look at before.
so be proud of yourself because you look good in person, but do rely on picture to spot some corrections which could benefit to you a lot, like mild weight loss, weight gain and so on.

yeah I can completely understand - I hate getting my picture taking just for the pure "i dont lke seeing myself in pictures" factor...after years of not letting anyone taking my picture - Ive actually created a fear for myself of cameras..as in if someone takes out a camera and tries to take my picture I get really nervous and panic! - My advice is to, spend a long time infront of the mirror. See what ways your hair sits best, whats the best "smile pose" etc etc - and if your really uncomfortable in photos - stand behind people! thats what I do when forced to be in a picture! lol.

Try taking a picture of your good side. All people have that face angle where they will look good on pictures. You could start by asking pro photographers where your good angle is, so the next time you'll take a picture of yourself or in any other pictures, you'll never dread or worry about what you will look like. No one is ugly. ^_^

I look really bad in pictures...and i dont really look like that in real life. So dont judge yourself by pictures..somepeople are just unphotogenic. and Mirrors make you look bad / worse according to lighting. Just be confidentt. Noone i know is "ugly" except some cases..maybe your plain..but thats far from ugly.

omg the same thing happens to me
i look like crap in pics but its because of the lighting and the kind of camera
for example, camera phones take the worst pics
just trust the mirror =]

I have always hated my pictures too. I think a lot of people do. I too prefer mirrors.

ahhh everyone feels that way. people tell me i'm pretty when i think i'm as ugly as a mule, course they probeblt lie. but no i bet your as cute as a button!!!!! boys with low self-esteem are always cutie pies!!

godd everyone always hates there own pictures lol
i kno i hate mine 99% of the time and everyone else says they look "soo pretty"
but i dont even care..people r gonna look at me most of the time not my pix
unless thyre stalkers or sumthing =]]

WELL...i think that pictures don't mater much! because, who looks at pictures,. the only peeps that look at you are in real life, you no man? so photoegenix don't mater man.
