To me hot dogs are a last ditch cant get anything else food, at that point it must be covered with something, so ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce, mayo or a combination is needed. The other day I grabbed a packet of what I thought was mustard and a relish and mayo, turns out I had hotsauce instead of mustard and that was the best way I have ever eaten a hotdog.

Personally, I don't like ketchup on my hot dogs. I think the ketchup is too overpowering and makes whatever you are eating taste like ketchup. Not that ketchup has a bad taste, I just want to enjoy the rest of the tastes. If I heard someone order ketchup on their hot dog, I wouldn't think anything about it - it's a free world. I do enjoy a little mustard on my hot dog because I think it really compliments the taste of the hot dog.

I grew up in New York where traditionally, one should put mustard and saurkraut on a frank. I have always loved ketchup. The sweetness it provides has always been very satisfying mixed with the saltiness of the French fries and the sour of the kraut. I'm getting hungry!

My brother and I are the only ketchup fans in my family! My parents feel we don't know how to eat hot dogs. Many people look at "ketchup on hot dog eaters" as childlike in their food selection!

I prefer mustard on my hot dogs. I occasionally like ketchup on my hot dogs but not very often. Ketchup is more of something I preferred when I was younger. I guess I have a more refined taste that I am older. I like putting homemade sweet pepper relish on my hot dogs more than anything else now.

I like mustard better on my hot dog than ketchup. To me, ketchup doesn't taste too good on a hot dog.

For me, the perfect hot dog has ketchup, mustard and relish on a toasted bun. Ketchup is good on eggs too.

I like my hot dogs with ketchup as well. I like hot dogs loaded with everything, at times...chili, onions, jalapenos, cheese, sauerkraut, dill relish, mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise...or any combination of the above items. But if I don't have all that stuff on hand I usually just have dill relish, mustard, ketchup, and mayonnaise on my dogs. Yes, mayonnaise...if you think about it, a hot dog is nothing but bologna in a different shape, and I always put mayonnaise on bologna sandwiches. Sweet relish is good if I'm going to have just the sweet relish and mayonnaise on my dog.

I don't prefer ketchup on my hot dogs. Mostly just mustard, but I do like mayo along with mustard as well depending on my mood.

I like my hot dogs with Heinz ketchup and a little mustard, with or with out chili doesn't matter, Adds flavor to the hot dog, and causes my mouth to water.
I'm a young adult and my parents like their hot dogs similar to mine except with lots of onions.
