Plot all four points on the coordinate grid.

You will see four lines. 3 of the four are along the grid and can be counted and teh fourth is a diagonal.

To solve the diagonal think of it as the corner of a triangle with side1 from (3,1) to (3,5) and side 2 from (0,1) to (3,1).

How long is the side from (3,1) to (3,5) ___
How long is the side from (0,1) to (3,1) ___

Use these two sides in the pythagorean theorem which states a^2 + b^2 = c^2.
In this case the diagonal is side c.
What answer did you get? ___

Take this diagonal side and add it to the lengths of the other 3 sides and you have your Perimeter.

It's all right triangles.
You have two sides to every triangle.
Pythagorean Theorem will give you the third.
Now do your homework.
