the word "work" and the word "labor"
they are not EXACTLY the same. If they were, why are they two separate words??

Work is anything done constructively like yard work, schoolwork and housework. Labor is work that is often organized as an occupation and usually involves payment.

Oh hon - language is FULL of words like that. They're called synonyms, and depending on the context, tone, etc. they can have very similar meanings or different meanings. The best way to see how they are same and how they are different is to look in a dictionary and in a thesaurus.

Work is a scientific term that describes the amount of energy transferred from one system to another.

Labor is a transitive verb, which means it can be used as a verb as well as a noun. e.g. "He labors." "I hired some labor."
