There really is no comparison. The Beatles made catchy tunes, the sort of music that appealed to the young. Queen were a rock band, with good musicians. The Beatles were not really very good musically. And some of their songs were rubbish, in all fairness. Queen, on the other hand, were on their day one of the greatest bands ever. Freddie Mercury was an icon. a musical genius. And you should remember that the Beatles started way before Queen, so they should have sold more records. Record sales, however, make no difference to the quality of the bands. Queen were a phenomenon. The Beatles weren't even one of the better groups of their era, they were just the luckiest because kids bought their records because their music was so simple. I know I won't win best answer for this, but I believe in honesty, and in all honesty I believe the Beatles were one of the most over-rated groups of all time. As for one of the comments about listening to Beatles' lyrics, 'Blackbird' was rubbish and a boring song, as was 'All You Need Is Love,' and what about the biggest load of rubbish of all? The lyrics from 'Hello, Goodbye.' I rest my case.

Even if you argue that Mercury was the greatest male vocalist ever - and he can't be far off - The Beatles still win this by a country mile. Consistently brilliant throughout their career, always innovative, always at the cutting edge, experimenting, actively seeking to be original and unlike anyone else of their time, and pulling it off with every album. Queens' early work was fresh enough and often avant garde, but after 7 or 8 years drifted into the dreary world of popular music that saw them become just another band, there music became repetitive, with the occasional gem, but did little after their early promise to push the musical boundaries, as the Beatles had done constantly. No! there's no doubt. It's the Beatles every time.

Queen might of had more talent and were a better live band but The Beatles were still the best band all around.

Two great bands, both musically brilliant, but who's the best?

You cannot compare two different bands who are from two different eras like the beatles and queen.. Well you can, but the Beatles would win hands down.
What have Queen got apart from a dead legend!!!
The Beatles have got John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison an Ringo Starr. They are all legends in their own right.

Beatles - A couple of good songs, a well known guitarist/song writer/ but more famous for the assasination than their music. The world lost a talented & gifted song writer the day they killed Lennon

Queen - Umpteen FABULOUS albums, & showmanship the likes of which you'l've never seen before or are likely to see again!!!! The world lost a wonderful, talented, all round good man the day that Freddie Died.

Out of interest though, why that comparison? They're worlds apart. Both in their musical style & intellectual output.
