The headliner of my car droops down. The fabric still looks good but it just does not stick to the roof like it did before and now its only attached where the inside light is.

Cheap way is with thumbtacks or bobby pins. Right way is to remove the headliner panel after removing any side trim, domelight and sunvisors, remove the headliner fabric and scrape off any old residue or foam, have a good, smooth surface, spray with 3M trim adhesive on the panel and the fabric, let it get tacky for a couple minutes and carefully place it on the panel---smoothing out any wrinkles. Then reinstall the panel and other trim parts you removed. Check the previous posts on YA for answers to other people's questions about the same problem...has been answered many times already.

Rick's tacks work, and I have used dress pins to hold the headliner up. As long as the pattern is neat it is better than drooping. Replacement is nice if you can afford it but I've never had a drooping headliner that was worth replacing... and a 17 year old car is probably past the "worth it" stage. I've tried spray adhesive, too. It doesn't work because the foam piece between the headliner base and the cloth is crumbling. The fumes from the spray don't dissipate before it is all fallen down again.

Is your headlining a molded type or fabric type?

Headlining has what they called wire listing, this is commonly use on fabric headlining, it is a wire rod inserted on car headlining, if this get loose your headlining will sag, to fix the problem you need to locate which portion of the headlining has a loose wire listing, it would be better to bring your car to service center or upholstery shop because it canot be fixed without uninstalling the affected portion of the headlining.

Go to either your auto parts store or dealership. They sell a spray adhesive just for that. You will have to take out the whole headliner and backing board to do it.

cheap and easy way it to use straight sewing pins. You can't really see them and it doesn't take long to pin it up
