I have been using Castrol High Milage oil for awile now in my 95 F-150 with 235,000 miles. The engine seems to run more quiet and does not use the oil it had with conventional oils. It seems to have better detergents for cleaning also. Hope this helps.

I tested petroleum products when I was in the Navy and for motor oils I have to recommend the Pennsylvania paraffin based oils such as Q-State or Pennzoil. The Texas crudes, Havoline, Valvoline, etc have a high sulfur content which can lead to the formation of H2SO4 in an engine with a vented crankcase.
In all fairness this was in 1975 when Mobil-1 first was introduced and the only cars that could use it were the new Chrysler products that had teflon seals because the synthetic oil would eat a rubber seal.

I swear by Mobil one synthetic. I switched over to it years ago when I saw the test results. I found that I get at least 275 to 300,000 miles on all my vehicles with no appreciable wear inside. My wife just sold her Nissan Quest van with 300,000 miles on it and it is still going strong. My jeep had almost 325,000 miles when I sold it, my current 1994 chevy 4x4 pickup has 240,000 trouble free miles on it as well. We have two new 2007 ford focus cars and both will get mobil one for their entire lifespan.
Hope this helped.
