Honey, I don't walk through my daily life.... I skid, slip and slide, hair flying, smile on my face and enjoy the ride.

I have never "walked" in my entire life and the closer I get to the end of it, the higher I fly.

I know when I need to stop a moment...and I know what centers me....but, I'm so dammed well-adjusted it hardly ever happens.

I love my life - have always loved my life. I see no reason to change as I near 70.

Nature and the beauty of God's natural world center me.
The oceans, the wind in the trees, the snowfalls, a walk
in the woods, a lovely autumn day. I could go on and on.

Another thing that does is my dog. He is so gentle and
sweet and gives unconditional love to me and my husband.

Listening to beautiful music, and my yoga class. It's wonderful for centering yourself.

My knitting. I feel relaxed and peaceful when I knit and
watch each little stitch fall into its own place, making
a pattern and then become a garment made by the fruits of my own labor.

Looking up at the stars at night and wondering about
them. How far they are, what gases comprise them,
what spectral types and colors they are. How vast and
incomprehensible the universe is. And how we are
here on this little earth.

All of that is mind-boggling and makes me feel very
centered and peaceful.

Not just when I need to, I do it because I must. Without recognizing the things that center me, I am no one.

My daily life starts when I say good morning to my Lord. If I fail to do this, I have failed the center of my reasoning, lost the source of my power, and become confused. Then I meander throughout the day without connecting when I should.

Thanks.

YES, I do. What centers me is first prayer and acceptance of God's will [when I choose to actually listen for it and abide by it!]

Second - nature centers me...all the wonder of things that Man did not have a hand in.

Animals center me - these 'tamed' creatures we live with that we know so little about...really.

Then my very existence - I certainly did not ordain it nor have I had the say so on how long that existence will be - so each day centers me.

What centers me fastest is to see others in bad places of the heart...disillusioned, down, not able to pick themselves up, loss of personal pride, and feeling beaten into the ground. When I see a man in an electric wheel chair, guiding it with only his chin, yet always beaming at others with happiness , I realize that no matter what my problems, I have it very good...and that makes me want to help others find the "very good" in life. I feel that is what we are here for. I do not use religion as a base in life, for I fully believe that the only religion we need is "Do unto others as you would have done unto you.: this simple, easy to understand belief is all any of us need to live kind lives that hurt no one, and help many. That is my center. Sometimes I wobble in self pity, as I am sure we all do, but it takes a mere moment in time to see others about us who have no out for a meaningful, happy life. I give a hand to those who I can...have I been burned...of course I have, haven't we all. But to harden my heart to those in need because of a few very human takers is not the answer...the answer is kindess, love of fellow man, and helping as help can be done. Love and peace, Phil

Things that center me. First I have to think about what in my life centers me. Then I ask myself if I turn to those things when I need to. This question is to hard.

I am centered by the knowledge that I am "more" than my physical body experiences. My life is a constant communication between me and my spiritual guides.

My sweet hubby, my life companion has always been a remarkable and true friend to me for 44 years now. He is my feet on the ground and I am his wings. We are a good team.
My family (son and granddaughter) are the joy in my life that makes me smile and want to hang around for them in case they need help in any way.

These people and my own faith are my compass, my strength.

Yes, I pray about everything, the Lord is always there, no matter what's going on. I have my family and pets, I know they love me. I attend church functions. Another thing that helps me, is to visit my friends at the nursing home-they are always glad to see me. I can't go there without being appreciative of the things I do have and can do in life.
