Sorry to tell you this, but I think...no, I know...I would be putting some distance between me and a friend like that. No one needs all that drama all the time; having to explain and defend everything they are accused of saying and/or doing. I think your friend is very, very needy. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if she doesn't make up most of the stuff she says she has heard. She does it so you will deny the rumor, swear you are her friend, promise you would never say or do such a thing, and beg her not to be angry. Is that the way the scene often goes? She wants you to be her friend, but she is not your friend. I think you should have less and less contact with her....don't go to the mall with her, don't go to her house. If she telephones, talk a minute then tell her you got to go. If she calls when you are out, don't return her calls. I suspect you have to see her in school, but as you gradually cut ties out of school, she will quit hanging on to you at school, too. Sometimes you can't always be too kind when you have to get away from a destructive personality.

Dump her as a friend. Friends should be the ones who stick up for you and not believe every rumour she hears. If she's that easily persuadable, she sounds like too much drama and you don't need that in your life.

Just tell her to believe whatever she wants to believe and if she really doesn't like what she heard, tell her to hit the road or shut up.

Tell her to grow up!! Tell her that you want to be friends with mature people that know rumors aren't true!!! And tell her that if this is how she's going to be then you would be better off w/o her,
It's not worth the time, or the stress it puts on you

that may no longer friendship. you do not get jealous out of your chum because of the fact of having quite a number of fellows or regardless of?? if she desires to get extra guy acquaintances why would not she start to make one? C'mon.. be extra open minded and tell your chum to end blaming you and performing like a new child.

With her behavior I would not even consider that a friend from the beginning. You will know when to say enough is enough and move on in your life.

Assuming these rumors are negative, it seems a real friend would not believe them about you.

tell your friend to never believe a rumor because they're not true half of the time
