So... Since Turkey now seems set on invading Iraq and that means the US is going to have to defend it's Kurdish Allies and protect Iraq can anyone explain how this?
I mean I keep hearing how war with Iran is Bush's Idea and the tension has been growing for a couple of years, but this Turkey thing just exploded in the last couple of days and no one is screaming "Congress is leading us to war!"
I don't get it, where is the far left calling for the impeachment of the democrats in office for possibly pushing us to the brink of a pointless war that they seemed intent on provoking?
And lets say it does come to war (again a war the DEMOCRATS provoked) are the far left anti-war people going to protest the fact the military will have to fix another screw up by Democrats in power? Or will they still just blame Bush?

iwasnotanazipolka & think 1st: I am well aware of the history of the region and I know about the generations of wars, cultural conflict and violence that has pained the regions history. My point was to demonstrate that the Democrats knew this would be a provocation and went ahead with it, despite the fact it would cause problems.
It had nothing to do with not understanding, it actually comes from knowing the history all too well. Besides the genocide in question was not Turkey's doing, it was done by the Ottoman Empire, that’s like suing the new owner of a car that hit you when it belonged to some one else.

You are mistaken. The Turks want some excuse to go after the PKK and this House committee vote gives them that. They cynically act hurt but are using it to go after the Kurds. If a war breaks out, and I seriously doubt one will, it will be Turkey who initiates it.
The House vote was just a smokescreen - the Turks want to get the PKK. At the same time, they have denied one of the notable genocidal incidents of the past century.

Looking at the original question, I would have to agree with your sentiments. I can also see that the democrats have no clue how to conduct foreign policy as another poster said and that Pelosi and Reid are way over their head! If you base US foreign policy on a lie, a number of them, as Congress has done, you will never be able to find the solution. That is the real reason why Congress is blind!

Wow there is intelligent life on this planet.. I had to pinch myself to see if this was real... Yes the dumbocrats are at it again ... Now they are backing off their Turkey thing ... I mean DAAAAMB that thing, they were going to have a vote for yet another nonbinding resolution ( AT THE TAX PAYERS EXPENSE)on something that happened 95 years ago....Mrs Palosi needs to be investigated and charged with high treason ... For her unauthorised trip to Syria.. And I think the whole lot of them need to be investigated for the attack on a private citizen (Rush Limbaugh) These people condemned a private citizen and that is unconstitutional not only that but they lied about what the man said....These people have too much money and are out of touch with the people they represent.. They need to be voted out of office ..Before this country becomes a socialist state .And we lose our land our freedoms and our rights......

We destroyed Iraq's military and created a vacuum. that's the reason Turkey is contemplating this....the bill about genocide may have been provocative, but the Turks are using it...they were looking for a public relations opportunity. do you remember the problewm we had getting permission to use their airspace...this is their region and want to be the big dog there.

Killing Kurds is a long standing hobby the Turks have, along with killing Armenians, Christians, and any others they don't like.
