I'm looking for the most prestigious literary awards for fiction that cover the entire world, as well as the most prestigious ones specific to different major countries, such as Britian, France, Germany, Australia, the U.S., etc.

In the U.S.
The Newbery Award for children's literature
The Caldecott Award for children's literature illustration
The Geisel Medal for children's literature (Geisel was Dr. Seuss)
The Wilder Award for children's literature
O'Henry Award for short fiction
Nobel Prize for Literature
The Pulitzer Prize

Worldwide it would have to be the Nobel Prize for Literature.
In Britain it would be the Booker Prize.
In the U.S. The Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, the National Book Award for Fiction, The Critic's Circle Award for Fiction, and The PENFaulkner Award. There are also specific awards (The Edgar, for example for mystery writers).
I think there is a Goncourt prize in France, but am not sure.
