They are selected by the state you live in -- based on your votes.
In some states, they are professional electors who are the same regardless of party -- and who just cast different electoral votes based on the outcome of the state popular vote.
In some states, there are different panels of electors for each party -- a carryover from the original model, where the electors actually had some discretion in their voting.
