Find a value for k so that the line through (4,k) and (-2,-1) is parallel to y= -2x+ 3 over 2.

when a line is parallel to the other, the slope is equal.

Slope of y = -2x + 3 is -2

(-1-k)/(-2-4)= -2
-1-k = -2(-6) = 12
k = - 13
