I'm not sure that I can answer "favorite name" because I have so many favorites. As a writer, I've been collecting name books since I was 15 and have become very curious about both names and surnames, and I have many favorites~Joel, Christopher, Brendan, Michael, and Eric are among them, as are Melody, Miranda, Amanda, and Laurel.
I suppose it depends on where you live, as to how unusual your name is. It would be interesting to know the source of it. My sister's name is unusual but not to that extent, and I have a female cousin with a one-of-a-kind name. My sister hates her name even though people think it's pretty.
