Touching??? Wow, the act of touching is only unlawful if the touching is unwanted and/or uninvited, is legally described as "sexual assault", and involves children. If the act of touching was outlawed in this country, tens of thousands who ride the subway in NY every day would be guilty of breaking the law. So, I am suspicious about how you are defining "touching".

First of all, you have to ask what AGE is the person you are touching? Second what SORT of touching you are doing? If the person's AGE is less than 18 yrs old, you can get in trouble if the touching SORT is sexual nature. People here generally dont want to be touched by strangers, because of diseases, dirt, whatever.

If your talking about America, of course, it is NOT outlawed. Some people don't like to be touched, others do. It depends on what societal norms dictate your laws - even the 'unspoken' ones.

touching is only outlawed if the party being touched is uncomfortable and does not want it. This is true regardless if the person being touched is male or female.

Sadly some people are overreacting to a common practice of greeting others preferably in their families, and there is a correct way of touching that is not offensive or threatening to the other person.......any more intimate personal contact is taboo------its called crossing the line of decency.

Some people like to touch or hug another person but it comes down to what people are personally comfortable doing........PARENTS HUG YOUR CHILDREN !!!!! theres absolutely nothing wrong with that!!!!and tell them often that you love them and cultivate mutual respect for one another!!!!
