Just tell her that you think that you started your period and if you can have pads! And I'm sure if you have any questions she would be glad to answer them for you, that's what mothers are for :]]! Good luck :]] *oh..and you'll need quiet a bit...becuase you want to change your pad every hour or so...so you wont feel "Soggy" like if there's alot of blood in your pad then you need to change it!

Just tell her. She has most likely been expecting this day, even if she was too embarrassed or reluctant to talk to you about it. She may already have some pads for you at home somewhere, tucked away for when you needed them. I'm sure she will be both happy and sad because this is one of those bittersweet milestones in life that means you are growing up and not her little baby anymore.

If she is still at work when you get home, call her and tell her so she can stop and get some pads on the way. They come in packages. One package should be enough to get through your cycle. If you are having cramps, you should tell her that, too so she can get you some Midol. In the meantime, aspirin or ibuprofen will help a little bit.

I'm sorry you had that happen at school the first time--it can be a hassle.

Welcome to womanhood!

It's always nice to let your mother know what's going on with you. She can always give you an advice on what you need to do. Don't be shy to tell your mom and or ask her anything you want to know. She's there for you. Go get yourself a pack of pads and take a couple of those with you in your purse. It's ok..it's part of growing up

well just out of the blue say mom i need a ride to the store and whats a good brand of pads or tampons.

seriousley...im a mom and moms wait for a daughter to tell em that kinda stuff. They get excited for somereason...lol as did my mom.

but a box of whatever is good- it will most likeley last trhe whole period.

If you havent had sex yet stick with pads- they just lay flat in your underwear. but if your more cofertable wering tampons go for it...and it doesnt hurt to put them in.

Just ask your mother is she has a couple of spare pads around as you need some. Then ask if she can pick up some more at the shops tomorrow.

She will get the idea

Oh sweetie, just tell her like you told us. I am sure she'll make sure you have what you need for tomorrow. Just take a few pads - it doesn't sound like you're flowing too heavy at the moment if t.p. got you through the day. Good luck!

As a mother, I couldn't wait for the day that my daughter came to me to tell me that she had started. When she did start, she was visiting her father and called me to take her to the store, instead of asking her stepmom. Chances are your mother is just waiting for you to tell her that you've started and will be more than happy to take you to the store.

Just to let you know ... I used the occasion as a celebration for my daughter. While at the store, I bought her a long-stem rose and took her out to eat at her favorite restaurant. This was just one of the many milestones in her life that I was able to help her celebrate.

Ask your mom to come to your room or the bathroom and say "mom I started my period" she'll take care of the rest.
it is nothing to be ashamed about, your mom went through it, your grandmother went through it. All of us girls did.
