Ok...so today is my b/day. In the office I work in, everyone else has already had theirs this year. My supervisor prefers cookies to cake, so I BAKED her 10 dozen, all different kinds. The other two girls were both ordered cake/cheesecake from an expensive bakery...the other girl doesn't celebrate birthdays...so that leaves me. And I didn't get anything. I am upset, but don't want to be whiny. And honestly, I would have been happy w/ them just acknowleging it. Do you think that was too much to ask for?

Awww, now that is really too bad. I wouldn't bring it up as it just makes you look kind of petty but it really isn't fair.

Is it possible they didn't know it was your birthday ... or maybe forgot (and you'll get your cake in a couple of days???). Maybe they didn't think you liked the birthday thing either?
If this is the case then maybe someone else here has a way of mentioning it that doesn't make you look bitter or anything like that. Maybe a little hint to a co-worker that your going out tonight for your birthday, or your daughter is doing something for you for your Birthday, ect.

Whatever the case, Happy Birthday from Me!!! What do you want for your Birthday? I'll give you anything you want ... as long as it can be emailed - hehe.

Happy Birthday Niff!!!

YES you should be ticked.....
Well NiffLer that really sux. I think you should just not participate next year if they don't redeem themselves in a hurry. If it turns out that the 3 who got things from you this year realize that they don't next year it may make them think. If they ask you can just tell them the truth. "Since I got nothing for my Bday last year not even a Happy Birthday Wish I just assumed that we weren't celebrating Bdays any more" You shouldn't be the giver all the time without getting some recognition for your kindness and consideration. They are just co-workers ... not loved ones, family or relatives.
So HAPPY BIRTHDAY NiffLer xoxo Enjoy the vids

Yes be ticked! They should have at the very least said Happy Birthday! It's not being whiny, it's just common courtesy. Bake yourself something tonight and take it into work with you tomorrow. I know it's not the same but that way they can celebrate your b-day with you. >:|

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Yes. You should be ticked. Your employer has your personnel record with your birth-date on it so you shouldn't have to remind anyone. I agree with Karri. Bake a cake and bring it in tomorrow. Maybe they'll get the picture.

Oh, and sorry so far your B-day was terrible, but we all wish you a very happy year to come. Happy B-day.

Some people are bad with birthdays. Did you bring it up the week b4 as a subtle reminder? My dad forgets my birthday every year. This year I'm calling a few days b4hand.

Nope! But you didn't mention if you made sure everyone knew it was your birthday. I always make sure everyone knows when mine is coming up. They tricked me this year and surprised me! I really don't think asking for acknowledgement of the day or your birth is too much. But it is too much, in my opinion, to expect people to remember when your birthday is without reminders.

You have every right to be ticked...I am out rightly pissed off in your honor. How dare they? After all of these years you have put in they should have had the party yesterday and given you today off. Happy Birthday Honey...Your tops with me.
