i bought a chinese make mini cordless mouse from ebay. The mouse works fine from the desk but the moment I move it away slightly, it will stop working. The reason I bought it was to watch T.V. shows and changing links whilst in bed but now I cant do that. Is this normal or is it cause I bought a GBP 3.49 mouse?

few feet, yes but this stops a few cms away. I am going to check if the batteries are a problem as my flatmate lent me his rechargeable ones.

They're only made to work a few feet away. Otherwise, all the cordless devices in the building would be interfering with each other all the time.

The problem is that you expect miracles. The "cordless mouse" is a convenience so you don't have so many cords on your desk, not so you can sit as far away from the computer as you want.
