one million. Tony l. a. Russa 2. Bobby Cox 3. Mike Scioscia 4. Jim Leyland 5. Terry Francona i do no longer know how absolutely everyone can bypass over Tony l. a. Russa from this record. he's third on the all time wins record and has a .535 winning share. he's taken communities to the playoffs limitless cases and has gained 2 international series with small marketplace communities. He has replaced the way that mangers use their bullpens, and now he's changing the place managers evaluate batting pitchers in NL lineups. he's had a larger impression on the sport than the different energetic supervisor. And in simple terms seem at what he has achieved with the Cardinals this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, a team that replaced into broadly envisioned to have a destructive season. And no, i do no longer think of that Torre is between the suitable managers in the sport -- actual no longer proper 3.

I'm not sure if he'll stick around, but I think people overestimate what his leaving might mean to the team.

Even if Rivera follows him out of town, it's not like this team will fall apart. They've got a nucleus of some good young players, and their biggest need - starting pitchers - has more to do with the front office than with whoever is managing in the dugout. Signing effective starters this offseason will have a bigger impact on their 2008 success than whoever they sign to manage the team.

As for the doomsday picture painted by some, I don't think Torre leaving means the end of anything. I'm sure Yankees fans felt their team was done when Miller Huggins left the dugout after three World Series titles. Then Joe McCarthy came along and led them to seven titles, followed by another seven from Casey Stengel. If you have the talent, most managers will find a way to win with it.

Joe Torre is going to stay. They dont have a great choice to replace him. Don Mattingly is not 100% ready to manage. Garidi could do it but can he improve the team better. Tony doesnt want to manage. Bowa doesnt want to manage. I still like Joe Torre, i think he will do better next year. If they started the season better they would have a really good season this past 2007 season. In the long run I think the best thing for the yankees to do is to keep Joe torre

If he was to stay, Steinbrenner would look like the biggest loser in the world and his angry words would mean nothing. Torre is gone.

Players realize they make more money on the Yankees than they would on other teams, (you know, because the Yankees have to over spend to compensate for the fact that your own fans will boo you) and ideally, you care about the manager, but your agent will kick you in the butt if you don't give the yankees their fair shake at spending millions on you.

That being said, Abreu isn't worth $15 mil, Rivera is going down hill, if Arod opts out, he is an idiot and Posada will make fans think that 2007 is what he is capable of every year.

You may not lose any players.

I just got done watching Mike and the Maddog,They had the Cashman interview,Cashman said nothing has been decided on Torre's future with the Yankees yet,They had two meetings in florida,Yesterday and Today,And haven't decided anything yet,,I think the longer it takes to make a decision the better it looks for Joe to come back!

Hank and Hal Steinbrenner, if they can cosolidate power, will offer Torre a contract for around three years. But it didn't go smoothly for them over the past two days with the old guard who favored the now disgraced Steve Swindal for the top spot in the organization.

He is going to get fired. The only reason they would keep him is if A-Rod says he'll leave if Torre is fired. But i think they are trying to get rolling in a new direction, with the new stadium and all. The only reason i like the yankees is because they have Joe Torre.

I also want Torre to stay. He is one of the greatest managers the Yankees have ever had.

The better question is who do they hire if they let him go and where would he go? I think they will keep him. To the non-Yankee fans: why would you waste your time responding to this question? Some people just have NO life I guess.
