Why do you say that hate crimes don't apply to blacks? Last time I checked, it is extremely hard to prove a hate crime either way. What you have to do is prove that the person attacked the other person simply because of their color or orientation. So, for example if the person belonged to a hate group that was specifically targeting a certain group. You have to prove it. The reason why a lot of whites get charged with this is because they might belong to a hate group. Something that people don't look at is the gay Community. There have been a lot of hate crimes against gays that have been perpetrated by both whites and blacks.

You're sadly misinformed, hate crimes have been applied to African-Americans many times, in many differing circumstances. Does your angst extend to the fact that African Americans charged with the same crime as a White person is generally treated more harshly, or that a White killing an African-American is almost never sentenced to the death penalty? Are does your disbelief extend only to this isolated report? In addition, your argument is not supported by one fact, has this suspect been even caught? How do you know how he will be charged? Are you clairvoyant?
Also, if the laws are so great in Korea why not head back that way? I am sure that there is room for you.
