i wish more tournaments would do that!
i'd be really distracted if i were the player! lol.
the models do a good job as ball girls. i wonder how much they have to pay them? since most tournament ball boys and girls were volunteers?

lol, yeah ashley, i agreed with u 100%, ball boys and girls should reserve for future champions! but i think event such as the year end Masters should do something like this, i think it is fun for the sports.

I hope there hot, because i am going to be there on Friday, men's quarter finals and hot ball girls. Apart from the 100 things you think could be better, what is better than that?

They're hired models by the Hugo Boss company and many girls tried out to get the job. I agree, it is very captivating and the tennis players must be very distracted. No wonder Verdasco made so many unforced errors today! I don't agree that they should do it everywhere since being a ballboy/girl is a very exciting privilege for children and should not be taken away. Federer was a ballboy in Basel and if he hadn't been given the opportunity, who knows, he may not have become a tennis player! BTW, the US Open pays its ball kids $9 per hour to work there.

This is the 3rd or 4th year that they have used models. There was a lot of discussion about it the first time because many people in Spain complained and thought that this was a job for young tennis kids . However,they gave the models a crash course that was supposed to have been pretty tough. They really don't make more mistakes than the kids.
The players haven't complained yet so I guess that is why they continue to use the models.
BTW, Nadal won in 2005 but Federer won in 2006.

didnt they do it last year too? (naturally the gave it to nadal) i think its awkward and stupid at the same time. because the models looks kinda retarded being ballkids. and the kids have a lesser chance of experiencing it. although, seeing it in a guys point of view. it would be cool to have pretty girls get your towel and pick up the balls. why dont they have that for women's tennis??? they should have male models. that would be a show!

i think it's stupid. leave that to the kids! it just makes them look dumb. this is what i hate about this tournament.
