"Please support your rant by attempting to show how Turkey's reaction (or not) has ANYTHING to do with global oil prices, which have been increasing since 2003"

Since 2003, nothing.......BUT OIL IS A COMMODITY AND FUTURES MARKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anything that cause any instability in the middle east will cause higher oil/gas prices if they think it will affect supply........so if we piss off our ally Turkey...where we have military bases...it could lead to further instability in the region.....A Futures markets set prices based on "future" supply and demand.

.

DO you think gas prices our higher because supply is down...... I personally don't think so. I think it is since China's econony is booming they can afford more cars and need more fuel/oil resources...........So by Americans spending tons of their money on cheap Chinese crap at Walmart,,they are making their gas prices higher. But does paying less at Walmart balance out the higher cost of gas? maybe.

Americans are spoiled....We drive big gas guzzling vehicles long commutes to work.

spartacus, that's a pretty hard connection to make. The turks are not an oil producing nation, so I fail to see how the issue of Armenian genocide has anything to do with the price of oil.

I hope you are not laboring under some kind of illusion that the price of oil is ever going to go significantly down again.

It can't.

There is simply less and less oil in the world each day... and unless we find it on another planet, that won't change. Oil will continue to become more expensive... and the only sensible answer is to fund research that gets us off oil as a fuel mainstay.

Meanwhile... what have the Turks got to do with the price of oil?

Right now the turks are preparing to invade kurdistan, a place where they killed a lot of kurds in recent history... maybe that has something to do with the fact that someone (and it wasn't the liberals) decided to destabilize Iraq.

Anyway, what power do these supposed liberals have? The Republicans voting as a bloc can always have their way, and that will continue to be true until there is a more credible democratic majority, a thought that I imagine fills your soul with fear and trembling.

How stupid are you.....don't answer let me guess, you think that we get oil from Turkey, and that oil prices are determined by happy guys and sad guys. Well here is a wake up for you, Oil is a commodity traded world wide, and prices are determined by OPEC and the spot market. Oil production is barely able to keep up with demand, and is losing ground every day, so prices are going up and will never probably go down, in 7 or 10 years it may be $300 a barrel. and congress can't do a thing, and wouldn't if they could they get more from oil companies that from you.

Your historic previous is somewhat off. The Ottomans ruled over Armenia yet because the Russians (Tsarist, no longer Communist) advanced into the realm the Armenians greeted them as liberators. with the intention to provide the Russians with a a lot less pleasant reception the Ottomans keen to slaughter the Armenians, because, compared to the Russians, the Armenians were unarmed. It become genocide of the first order. regardless of this, 2 issues hassle me in an important way. a million. the conceitedness of feeling that our authorities needs to remark in this NOW after letting it pass for ninety 2 years is previous me. Are we asserting that something isn't poor till our authorities says so. What drivel!!!! 2. the present authorities of Turkey is a mundane usa governing Muslims; something all of us trust to be an excellent element. Why the heck can we settle on to rub their noses of their historic previous. a minimum of that they had the braveness to unload their genocidal authorities. We nonetheless have our personal (ask a community American in case you do not comprehend what genocide we pursued). might want to we be more suitable hypocritical. I easily have skipped over of this reaction my sneaking suspicion that this has been released by technique of the Democrats with the intention to embarass the present administraiton. If it really is unquestionably the case, which I worry, the politics are literally getting contained in the way of ideal overseas kin. that is one element to wrestle among ourselves over the experts and cons of Iraq yet to smear yet another usa, rather one it really is very pleasant and unswerving to the US, with the intention to attain relatives political factors is previous the light.

Nope.
This is why the price of oil is up.
Turkey wants to invade Iraq to kill more Kurds.Nothing new there, been happening a long time. Except when Saddam was in power. Crazy how could do that huh?
You might want to crack a book.

Nothing to do with Pelosi doing her Constitutionally mandated duty of representing her California constituents.

The funny part of the whole story is that a few Democrats have realized what they did and are quickly backing away from support for the bill. Its like watching rats fleeing a burning building.

Sadly, next week they will blame the entire thing on Republicans and the President.

Democrats say they will bring the price of gas down, but pleasing a foreign group is more important to them than that. It's also more important to them than the troops.
