My team is having trouble with arm tackling too much. Every day in practice we work on forming up, driving backwards, but come gametime they seem to want to reach out and grab with their hands and arms instead of getting into the ball carrier. Any drills that can help eliminate this?

The best tackling drill there is. You take 2 pads lay them parallel to each other about 7' or so apart then have 2 guys lay down (one with the football) helmet to helmet length wise, then blow the whistle and the goal is for the guy with the ball to get past the guy trying to tackle him. Also have em hit the single man sled for a while.

Ugh, I'm a wide receiver too and I hate tackling. The best thing for you to do is just stick it out, don't listen to the 'grow balls' dooshbag. A good idea would be either avoid hitting your elbows or buy elbow pads because those HURT when they get hurt. Tackling from up close, keep your feet wide and WATCH HIS STOMACH. Don't look at the head because of head fakes. Good luck

start punishing them, not to harsh thougg, like maybe an extra lap or gasser for every arm tackle, also, a warpping drill is have them line up, while walking, have one person wrap the guy and tackle him,not full speed though.

Tell them to grow some balls and stick their heads right into the ball carriers chest. Arm tackles are either 1) they are out of position or 2) they are afraid of hitting.

"Oklahoma"

Two parallel dummies quite close, one ball carrier one tackler and have them go, kno room for arm tackling
Then the other approach:

The players might not like you, but threaten them by saying, "no arm tackles or you all run" for every arm tackle make the whole team run a 100 the next day
