It is a fact, that you have a much higher chance to get insured on a motorcycle, then in a car. But it is not a fact, that you usually get insured. Another fact is, that more people get injured, falling of ladders every year, or skateboarding, or skiing, or roller blading, or ice skating, or walking across the street, or just bending over.

No. It's because of irresponsible people that people are killed on motorcycles. People are killed in cars too. We are a free nation, and don't need "big brother" telling us what's dangerous.
That makes me want to scream that people are willing to give up their right to be an adult and let the government make decisions for them!!!!!

No, people don't "usually" get hurt or killed riding motorcycles - now dropping one, is another story...
Now, you are making me think about the Classic early '70s BMW 75/5 that I will soon have my paws upon. Horizontally opposed is more than just for sex, you know.

I ride a motorcycle. And I respect it. For that reason I have never crashed, got hurt, or dropped it. Don't ask the government to restrict my access to ride because of other people's stupidity.

I happen to know that the Honda Motor Company spends millions lobbying the US congress (5 mil spent trying to defeat the Desert Protection Act)
I don't see them being banned anytime soon.
