No. It is largely in the past. The German people are not bad. I would even argue that a lot of the people somehow directly involved in some of the incidents were not 'bad'. Many psychology experiments have shown that people tend to do as they are told when commanded by an authority even if they are unsure about it. They also succumb to the group effect if everyone else is performing a certain way and many of them were scared or deluded themselves into believing that nothing was going on at the time.

As another fact it is known that the Russians actually killed MORE people under Stalin that Hitler ever did but since they helped us out in the war it has given them a soft spot in the history books in America.

Germans are apparently still quite paranoid about it; if any of them shows a sign of patriotism, other Germans jump down their throat saying they are a neo-nazi; swastikas can't be shown and nazi books can't be printed there, and the schools spend several years teaching kids about the events leading up to WWII.

the only people I hear go on about it are the English, who are still obsessed with the 2nd World War and the past, as it was the last point in history when they could be considered the leading world power.
the English media refer to it constantly, usually connecting it to football and football supporters.
if it weren't for the English, the world would forget about it and move on to more important things, like space exploration.

Certain ones are when they can be found. Especially if they were responsible for war crimes.
