Hmmm- let me think......

Let's see it dumbs down education to a standardized test that isn't worth the paper it's written on, instead of educating our children we are just teaching them how to pass worthless standardized tests, we pass kids on no matter what - it breeds zero sense of drive in a student, and it has created a generation of students who have graduated and can't make it in college because they didn't learn how to study in high school.

Add George Bush to Teddy Kennedy and what do you get? Another government program with good intentions that really doesn't do much.

That's "No Child Left Behind".

Good? hmmm...more kids pass standardized tests - but those tests are dumbed down to meet the quota of kids required to pass.

EDIT - oh, I thought of another one. Since kids are pushed through to the next grade, it ensures that there aren't 18 year olds at middle schools with 11 year olds.

It doesn't work. It creates a medium that all kids are taught by so the dumb kids will keep passing grades and the smart kids are never challenged, so end up being dumb as well.

The only good thing about NCLB is the name.

Everything else about the program is absolute crap. Just ask any teacher.

Good thing: There will be even more plaible-minded, "Bush supporters" in the future.
