sqrt 2,704 = +/-52

I knew that 50 * 50 is fairly close to 2,704 so I decided to find an approximation.

When I tested out numbers close to 50, I then tested 52 and it magically became 2,704.

At first I thought it was irrational, but I guess not.

Just out of my head, 50 x 50 = 2500, so the square root of 2,704 is bigger than 50. The difference is 204, so I need about four more 50's. 2 x 2 = 4, so I try 52

52 x 52 = (50 + 2) x (50 + 2) = 2500 + 100 + 100 + 4 = 2704.

The square root of 2704 is 52.

2704 = 2500 + 200 + 4

= 50² + 2(50) + 2(50) + 2²
= (50 + 2)²

Therefore √2704 = 52

Intuitively we have to assume that you asked this because there is an integer root. We know that 50² = 2500. So start with that. And the last digit is 4, so it is most likely 52. Sure enough, a quick check confirms that 52² = 2704

sure .
Use the LONG DIVISION METHOD

your number 2704
so group numbers by TWO ie (27) (04)
now take the first number : 27
take the square of a number which is close to 27 : i.e 5
so 5 * 5 = 25 ( answers first digit is 5)
remainder 2
next number becomes (2) (04) = 204
add 5+5 = 10
Now 10? * ? =204 (so ? is 2) so the next number in answer is 2
answer 52

Use order of operations *multiply first and then add/subtract (in the order you see it) and then take the square root: √60 - 3(4) +1 √60 - 12 + 1 √48 + 1 √49 = 7
