ovarian cysts are often caused by pregnancy and can disappear after the pregnancy hormones go, when I was pregnant with my son I started bleeding and a scan revealed a cyst bigger than the baby, the baby was fine and it disappeared on its own, the signs were swollen and tender lower tummy, maybe bleeding and a sort of dull pain that was worse when pressesd some cysts can be diagnosed if they are large by an examination, but normally you need a scan, I was told if the cyst had grown and did interfere with the pregnacy it could be removed in the 2nd trimester as this would be the safest time.

Sure, I got pregnant with a big ole cyst! I don't know how easy it is to get pregnant with one. I'd tried for about four months w/ no success, went in for an ultrasound because of pain, and the technician said, "yeah, there's the big cyst all right, that must hurt, and guess what, you just ovulated." (she could see the fluid that was released at the same time) So I went home and got busy w/ the hubby and 2 weeks later the test was positive.

Doctor also said that pregnancy hormones can shrink cysts sometimes, and I never did have it dealt with, so I must be all right.

This is just one woman's story, though. Best to check with a doctor or midwife.

I used to have ovarian cysts, and my GYN...prescribed birth control pills, and it got rid of the cysts. My Dr. also told me that they come and go throughout our cycles all the time, it's just the ones that don't go away and keep growing that we have to worry about. I actually had one that wouldn't go away, so my Dr scheduled a laproscopic surgery to remove it, and once he got in there it had disappeared already. As far as being pregnant with a cyst I don't have a clue...Hope this helped some.

See your physician or seek advice from the er instantly!
