Has anyone been able to publish anything you have written? I love to write, and i just emailed one of my good friends, a story i've been writing, and she loved it, how would i go about publishing it?

I'm 15, and have started writing short stories for two years now. I plan to continue writing, because the more I write, the more better I become, and it always shows. Not many kids nowadays really want to be writers', so it's a good thing for me to try and pursue my dream to publish a story in my teenage years.
writing is my passion, my only joy of life at this point in my life. It makes me feel alive and real, to create characters from my mind, and give them feelings, thoughts, and their own personalities. They've become my best friends, they guide me through the toughest points in life I go through, at times.
It feels good to get all those compliments from your good friends on your writing, It makes you realize just how it encourages you to write more and more. It's a talent that really needs tons of encouraging for you to keep on going. Always believe in yourself and you will publish something one day. And who knows, it might be even made into a movie!
I wish you luck! Keep the talent going! Remember that the more you write, the more better you get, not the more you read. Reading is only an instruction manual that teaches you techniques and gives you some ideas.
You can publish it by reading some books about it, it should be helpful. There are tons of those books in book stores.

get a book called Writer's Market. They may be online also. They list publisher's addresses, what genre of story they want (like mystery or children's or fantasy) What format, (disc, double space typed) and if you need an agent. You can buy it in the bookstore or the library has it. It comes out every year.

not sure how to get it published but you can definitely find it in the bookstore or on the internet.....try submitting them to magazines or an online zine for a writing website and see what happens....
