James Patterson?

I have been reading the James patterson, Alex Cross series pretty much as they come out. I just read Cross and now I cannot remember what happened to his ex-girlfriend Christine Johnson (mother of Alex Jr). He has custody of him in Cross. If someone knows, I would love the refresher. Thanks!

She moved to Seattle or Tacoma several books ago. She had custody of little Alex for a while but she was still not comletely right after the whole kidnap incident and after about a year, she gave him back to Alex.
