No, but you are close. They want to lower EVERYBODY'S taxes..because they believe the individual citizen can spend their own money more wisely than the government can.
Consider SCHIP....that family of 4 making $86,000 probably pays $40,000 of it to taxes....if that family was taxed half as much...just imagine the healthcare they could buy for themselves?

The Republicans are pushing the agenda of "lowering taxes for everyone," but this is misleading. They will lower them for people, but the amount is what matters. The higher your income - the more you will get back (ie. the tax cuts) which benefits only the rich.
America is one of the most undertaxed developed countries in the world, and the rich haven't been so undertaxed since the days of Hoover.
There are two main theories for cutting taxes. The supply-siders (which is what most people believe). That cutting taxes helps the economy. A more sinister theory is the starve the beast philosophy. By cutting taxes you significantly increase the deficit, the national debt and such. In the end, you'll have to cut government programs.

It is true that real conservatives favor less taxes. When Republicans lower tax rates, they give tax breaks to everyone who pays taxes. The rich, like George Soros, are spending many millions on liberal candidates.
When we have more money of our own to spend or save, we are better off.

JFK lower taxes more than any other president, more than the republicans want to lower taxes now.
The only people who pay taxes are the ones who make money, so you suggestion is true.
The country is supported by middle class tax payers, like me, and maybe like you.
The rich people already have attorneys and cpas that can get them out of most of their taxes, it is the working people who get paychecks with their taxes withheld who pay most of the tax.
The rich people are the democrats, have you looked at how much wealth Pelosi, Reid, Kennedy, Kerry, and almost all the rest have.
They have done a good job of making themselves look like they are one of the common people, but they are not.

Basically the republicans should believe that people know how to work their hard earned money. Unfortunately not all of them believe it.
The idea is that you should keep what you earn except for a portion you willing give up for the necessities of life. such as roads, security, schooling and such. Not to support people who do not want to work. or for projects that are unnecesary.
We are now taxed for almost everything and politicians still want to tax you more. We work hard for it politicians spend it.

No, you haven't been listening very well. Republicans want to lower taxes for everyone. Whereas, Democrats will raise taxes on everyone. Don't let the dems fool you by saying only the rich will pay this tax. Everyone will end up paying. Why do so many dems like to give away their hard earned money?

Yes, but their main reason for doing that is that they are greedy and they want the middle class and the poor to foot bill.
