What kind of "toys" are we talking about here?
I've bought a few battery operated toys on eBay but they were all new.
(I just love remote controlled cars...)

If its plastic then yes! All germs can be cleaned off with a good washing with the safe for baby Clorox wash or just soap and water. I would not however get stuffed animals/toys because they harbor a lot of germs inside. You can wash and dry them but usually they don't do too well. Usually if your child gets a stuffed toy dirty or puts it in his mouth often you should get rid of it due to germs. I would say go ahead and get used toys...they will save lots of money in the long run and seriously...kids don't play with them that long before they are on to the next thing.
