"Effing and blinding".Effing I can understand,sure,but "blinding"?How do you Blind?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this expression comes from Ireland. 'Effin' is a euphemism for that rude English word, and I think 'blindin'' might come from the idea that the language used is highly colourful, to say the least.

It's like Blasting, innit. That's why some people say "Blast it!". It's the same initial as lots of other swear words have. Useful to express vehemence, the explosive B. Blast, buggeration, blimey ("Blind me" originally), bolx etc. Effing is much more subtle however.

Are you talking about: if you keep doing it, you'll go blind!, if it is, it's only supposed to deter you!, like it's a bad thing, you won't blind, don't worry!.

i think it comes from blimey which in the bible mean blind me, if you say god blimey your actully asking god to blind you.
well thats what i was told in sunday school
