They don't, but I do wish they would though! People drive way to fast! You should only be doing 25 to 30 through a sub-division. To many kids riding bikes, walking, and cars parked on both sides of street!

Yes. My husband hates them. I do not mind them at all.
I think they are the lesser of two evils. For about 15 years before the bumps were put in; speeding was a serious problem in our neighborhood. We tried using the stationary machines that read and display the speed of vehicle; the ones that say "The Speed Limit is 25 mph, your vehicle speed: 45 mph" We tried having police officers target our area. Nothing worked for long. Speed limits here are 25 mph, and people sped along at 45 to 70 >gasp< mph. We had near misses aplenty; and some injured kids, fender benders, and one serious injury. I wish the bumps weren't necessary, but there are too many people who drive dangerously fast without them.

Yes, but I live in a mobile home park. The pot holes and speed bumps did a number on my car, the muffler and catalytic converter had to be replaced to a tune of $700.00 last January. A tree branch broke my windshield and put a dent on the hood of my car.

No, no need for them. My neighborhood has two streets that people use to cut through. Now, considering, where I live, they had best drive near the speed limit! We have multiple lawyers, doctors, fire and police officials all in one small neighborhood!
So, in small town podunk, the only ones who are up, after ten, are the teenagers who play cat and mouse, with the police...just for fun! Oh, and me! Of course, I only watch the game...I do not participate in cat and mouse!
No, no speed bumps are needed and all is well in Podunk!

We don't have them in our street but they are on the steep hill leading up to it and my Husband hates them but as they are outside the primary school then they do serve an important purpose, unlike most of the speed bumps around here.

We're on a dirt, country road, but when we first moved here someone used to put big dirt speed bumps in to slow traffic. I had a Jeep and it was still hard to get over them, until they flattened out again. Everyone ended up driving in people's yard, to get around them. Haven't seen any in awhile.

I think they should be put near every school and park..which means one would be placed in front of my house as I live next to a city park...bring them on...kids are coming and going all the time, and the cars don't stop for them..it is an accident waiting to happen..

I got a petition circulated and had them installed on my street. It required a signature from every houshold and county commission approval. I live on a through street that was often used as a short cut between two highways. I felt I had to do it to protect the small children, especially my grandchildren.

None in my hood. But there used to be some streets that were so bad as they limited your speed to 10 anyway!
