Hi i own a belkin router which i was trying to make more secure by looking at websites which help out with this stuff. I use a wireless laptop btw.
Anyway it told me to do something on the router setup home page (when u like type in an adress like: 192.21.3.45) which basically made my router invisible to other people.
However, now it is invisible to me!! and it doesnt appear on my "Available wireless networks" list.

Please help- the only reason i am able to wirte this is cus im on my friends computer.

Please help asap- also do i need to reset the modem or something? How do i do that

Follow the directions for a harware reset. THere is probably a reset button, Hold it in while powering up the router...alt check the support section at the belkin site on hardware reset to defaults.

Some modems have the reset button on the back. Others dont have a button they have a small hole in which case you need a small pin or pen. Hold the pin (or whatever you're using) in the hole for about 5 secs. if nothing happens try again for 10 secs.

you need to know the name of the router or you wont connect, thats the whole idea, stop people scanning for WAP.
If you cant remember the name, the do a hardware reset, and restart the programming again.

you have hidden the ssid, you can reset the router or if you rememer what you named the ssid you can have your wireless connection search for a wireless not listed, just search for what you named it.
