The courts have consistently upheld the constitutionality of the income tax, so yes, it's fair, it's the price we pay for living in the USA and enjoying all of its benefits.

You're talking about taxes, of course.

Fine. Lets cut the fallowing: all subsidies the GOP has given teh oil companies and the pharmaceutical companies. Cut all the "faith-based initiative" funding going to right-wing churches. Cut all the subsidies to the middle class schools of the "No Child Left Behind Act"--whisch won't hurt schools in poor areas any--they don't get any of tha tmoney.

Oh--and look at you're own life. Did you pay for all of your education? No federally subsidizedloans? No public universities now--you couldn't have "earned" that. No roads--that's paid for by taxpayers "frced to part with their money." And so on.

Now--After you eliminate al those goodies, lets start on things like tax shelters (IRA's, mortgage exemptions). Since you don't pay the taxes, some one else has to--so they are being forced to pay to support YOU. So all those goodies go away too.

Hmmm--if we are really going to be consistant about this, it's looking like its going to cost YOU a whole lot more than the poor people you want to cut off at the knees.

Imagine that!

What if you didn't want to pay for the interstate highways? Or the army? Or the air traffic controllers? Or any government employees? Taxes are legal and necessary, and the only way you have a say in how they're spent is by voting for people who think the same way as you do.

Its called taxes...its been happening for all of modern times....if you don't like it, move to a third world country....you would happily pay taxes if you lived in extreme poverty with no electricity and running water for a while.

Got fined for something did ya??? Just pay the fine and quit bitching. If its tax you are on about...I don't think Americans should pay taxes...It would make it impossible for you to invade other countries

Nonpayment of taxes would be one reason. But really, taxes go to support society as a whole, so no-one should consider them to be burdensome.
