It is a very good show starring Bill Paxon and produced by Tom Hanks.

It is also pretty topical in that it mirrors the actual events in the current Mormon cult leader trial.

Admittedly. some may not want to watch it for moral issues but for those who do they should be pleasantly surprised.

mormon$Jesus - The character played by Bill Paxton was raised in "Juniper Creek" a fictitious polygamous compound within short driving distance of Sandy Ut. His first wife is LDS, but has become inactive. His second wife is the daughter of the prophet of the compound, and his third wife had nothing to do with any Mormon church prior to meeting them.

It can be an interesting show, I haven't really gotten into it like some have. It is a drama though, and should not be mistaken for a documentary. It's even less comparable to living in Utah, as "The Office" is to working in an office.

I know members of the mainstream LDS church would love to tell you that he isn't a Mormon because he doesnt' go to the mainstream LDS church, but he is Mormon in that he believes in the Book of Mormon; he is a member of a break-off of the mainstream LDS church...he's still Mormon. Just like there are many different Methodist churches, there's probably the original, but a Methodist is a Methodist is a Methodist.

My wife and I love it... it´s a great series.

It pokes fun at the LDS Church, but it´s all in good fun.

The guy openly says on the show that he´s not LDS, and it´s very well specified that he belongs to the United Effort Brethren. Because he lives near SLC, though, many LDS people think that the show mocks them... once you watch it, though, you realize how unfounded the fear is.

It´s not a documentary, but a comedy. If you realize that, there won´t be misconceptions.

The actor is Bill Paxton....awesome actor. Loved him as Hicks in Aliens....'Game over...game f*cking over...". He was also in Twister and Weird Science (the movie). ...and a bunch of other movies.

...I still need to finish watching season 2 of Big Love...

I love this show!!!

I was surprised when I saw Tom Hanks as one of the producers.

I don't think they come right out and say he's Mormon, especially because if he belonged to the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints, he would be ex'd for having more than one wife.

But it's insinuated that this is something because it's in Utah, etc.
